Church Rock RisingThis image was taken on Broadhaven South beach, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The morning started off quite grey and I wasn't expecting much to happen, but then the sun started to fight through and the light completely changed. I ended up with a shot that has Church Rock, a rain storm, a sunrise and a reflection of the whole scene.
A Moment in FlightI've gone a bit arty with this one. I love waves and the movement of the ocean, but unlike the wonderful images by Ray Collins, I find mine rather bland, although I wasn't actually in the water. I took a quick dip in the Celtic Sea, but staying in for a longer to take pictures without a dry suit wasn't really an option! I decided to post this image, because of the silhouette of the bird. The bird, at lease for me, completes the image. It adds depth, and brings out that feeling of a captured moment in time.
Winter WanderlandTaken recently in the Vosges. Winter is trying to take hold, since taking this image last week the snow completely disappeared in the area and then came back again today. I love this time of year; something new every day.
In the ForestTaken close to Hohneck in the Vosges region of France.

I Can See YouI haven't seen the Owls recently, I keep trying, but I haven't been luck for the past couple of weeks. This is one of the last photos that I was able to get
Let Sleeping Ducks LieTaken at Petit Camargue, just over the border in France. I've been trying out Olympus, and was out testing the 300mm lens.
Vertical Take OffA bee taking off after taking a drink from a pond. Some water droplets can still me seen. It was taken at the Botanical Gardens in Basel, with a 300 mm f/4 with a 1.4x teleconverter.
Ready to PounceI went out to the Merian Gärten in Basel as the Iris Garden is in bloom. Turns out that I find the Iris a difficult flower to find a composition that works for me. I ended up getting closer, and closer, and looking more at the fine details. Which is when I saw this spider in the leaves at the base of the plant. I was more fascinated, by the detail of the spider and the web than the flowers that I'd originally gone out to shoot.
ReflectionsTaken in the Victoria Haus in the Botanical Gardens in Basel. My eye is drawn straight to the centre of the image, the delicate white petals and yellow centre and deeper to the orange points of what I think are the anther of the stamen. Then over to the second flower to the right, and only after this does the near perfect reflection become evident. Once the entire image is seen the scene then become reminiscent of a small tropical island with the white flowers as the palm trees.
Top of the hillTaken in Wergenstein in Graubünden at the end of a week in which I experiences all four seasons! You can find out more about the time on my blog: www.followinglight.ch

Autumnal LizardThis was taken during a hike through the forest. During a break in the clouds, the sun hit a group of rocks, and all of a sudden it was alive with lizards. I took the opportunity to capture a few images of them against the autumnal leaves. If you look close enough, you can see me reflected in the eye!
Late SummerI was away for the weekend in Tessin in southern Switzerland. We had unusually warm weather for the time of year with cloud free skies during the day and cloudy skies at night. I would have preferred it the other way round. This was taken in the morning, close to the old church of Anzonico.Other than the standard adjustments that are needed for the RAW file, I had to remove two low telephone cables that looked like they were strung between the trees.
Walk in the ShrubsTaken in the Botanical Gardens in Basel, using an Olympus E-M1 MK2 with a M.300mm f/4 + MC-1.4
Silhouette SunriseThis was taken in spring during a early morning walk in Rünenberg in Switzerland. I like the simplicity of the colours in the composition, the contrast of the silhouette against the hue of the morning sky.
Autumnal WarmthIsn't the early morning light in forests fantastic?I love the way the light penetrates through the trees, changing the dark haunting atmosphere into the warmth and promise of a new day. The birds chirp their way through the dawn chorus and the undergrowth comes to life.I'm not entirely sure of the location as I was driving through the forest when I saw the light and decided to take the next opportunity to stop and try to capture it. It is somewhere on the road between Hohneck and Colmar.
Tremorgio FallsI spent Saturday above Tremorgio Lake in Tessin. This was taken just below the plateau heading up towards Capanna Leìt.They'll be a few more pictures of waterfalls as well a some of Marmots coming soon.

Basel NightsI went out to try to capture the full moon over the city, the clouds had a different plan though. I ended up making the most of it though and spent some time around the cathedral and the river
